MISSING ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT
========================================

While we still have a list of unlocated classmates, we will spotlight one or two each issue in an intense data-gathering effort. This issue we're looking at Brendon Gibson and Richard Hung. Send in your memories and information and maybe together we can find Brendon and Richard.

Kinds of information to think about: did you know middle names or names of parents or siblings? Where did they go to junior high or high school? Did they move out of the area? Where and when? Have you had any contact since Pine Ridge? Where and when? Send in what you know, and we will compile and share it and follow any leads. Our goal: 100% location.

POST-PINE RIDGE CORNER
========================================

Of course, all the important people went to Pine Ridge, but we still made friends in junior high and high school. Here's the place to share information on those folks and post requests for contact information. If you have information to post or request, please send the name of the student and the name of the school.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO LATELY?
========================================

Please send us an update on your life, post-Pine Ridge, for publication in a future edition. Here are some ideas to get you started:

-What have you done since Pine Ridge which would most surprise/shock/appall/impress your ex-classmates? -What sorts of things do you do for fun? -What are your dreams for the future? -And of course, fill us in on all the standard stuff, like partners and children, where you live, what you do, and where you finished your schooling post-Pine Ridge. -Feel free to add other items of interest.

We look forward to hearing from everyone and sharing our stories.

CLASSMATE UPDATE
========================================

Here's an update from Calvin Schneiter:

I'm just about finished with cooking school at the California Culinary Academy. I'll stay in San Francisco, working at Boulevard Restaurant upon graduation, then hoping to open my own restaurant sometime in 2000.

After finishing my masters in systems engineering at UVA along with Tonya Viscomi and Steve Eisele, I worked for 3 and a half years at Capital One Financial Corporation. It was there that I came to realize that I could work at a bank or as an engineer at any time, but could only quit and try to start a restaurant while still fairly young and very single. As I write this I smell of curry, am partially covered in flour, and am nursing a nasty cut on my left thumb.

My best to all the old gang at Pine Ridge.

And here's some news from

Claire Futamase Collie:

After graduating from Oakton H.S., I went to UVA for four years (along with many other ex-Pine Ridgers) and got a B.A. in Psychology. I married Jay Collie, who I met at UVA, shortly after graduation. We moved to Raleigh, NC, where I quickly discovered that there is not much you can do with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. I worked for two years at the Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood, then decided to take the plunge and go to graduate school. I'm now at Texas A&M University working on my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. I hope to be finished within the next two years (my husband is definitely ready to leave Texas) and hope to pursue a career in forensic psychology to possibly work within the prison system and/or do psychological evaluations for legal cases. It's a long way from my original interest in child psychology, but working with a criminal population is never dull! In the meantime, I'm keeping sane in graduate school by spending the little free time I have with my husband and with my horse. Since moving to Texas, I was lucky enough to fulfill a lifelong wish to own my own horse, which I compete in competitions around the State. Jay and I are looking to relocate to Houston for my last year here so that he can accept a chemical engineering consulting job with a major oil corporation. Then hopefully it's off to an internship for me somewhere in the Southeast before we can relocate either to Raleigh or somewhere in Virginia. Ahhh - the transient life of a graduate student! Anyway, with all the moving around we've been doing, it's been nice to be able to look back to my connections at Pine Ridge.

AH, THE MEMORIES

It's fun to catch up, but let's also take a look back. Tell us what has stayed with you all these years since Pine Ridge. Some possibilities:
